ASSESSMENT/GRADING POLICY

Following is the detail of assessment criteria in the course, e.g. assignments, quizzes during the online teaching sessions, end-of-course exam, etc. and their weightage. It also contains how the students will be graded for different components of assessment, assessment methods that will be used during the course, e.g. Essay writing, MCQs, Short questions, etc.

Formative Assessment on LMS must be graded and be assigned 60% weightage of the Summative Assessment, whereas 40% may be assigned to the Final Examination conducted on LMS in the form of BCQs based Theory and online Viva based examination.

In order to provide flexibility to the students, they may be given options of two attempts to finish graded quizzes.

However, mid-term and class test must be taken as single attempt

Theory based final examination questions (to assess knowledge) will be prepared and peer reviewed by two at least examiners (internal and external)

Structured Viva of final examination (to assess attitude) will be conducted by two examiners (Internal & External)

The break-up is given as follows:

The formative assessment (A) on LMS must include:

Final Assessment on LMS (theory) and Zoom (viva)

Participation in ungraded discussion forum/ chats =

20%

Peer reviewed BCQ based Theory Exam =

20%

Two assignments =

10%

Structured Viva (Internal Examiner) =

10%

One class test =

10%

Structured Viva (External Examiner) =

10%

Two graded quizzes =

10%

-----

Mid-term assessment =

10%

-----

Total (A) =

60%

Total (B) =

40%

TOTAL A + B =

100%

Regarding Grading Policy, it is proposed that student may be considered PASS or FAIL on the basis of 50% cut-off of the total marks scored.

Evaluation templates are already shared on the official website of DUHS shared by QEC. Vice Principals and Year Coordinators are responsible that these evaluations are conducted in a transparent way.

The QEC-DUHS shall evaluate the on-line mode of the program through:

1.                  Student Feedback Survey (at beginning and course completion),

2.                  Faculty/ Teachers Feedback Survey (at beginning and course completion) and

3.                  Course Evaluation Survey (at the on-line course completion)
