INTRODUCTION:
The placement of this subject is in 1st year, semester-I of BS-DCP that is a combined course
for both Dental Hygiene and Dental Technology programs. The purpose of this course is to
gain understanding and enhance vocabulary of dental terminology and overall professional
knowledge by training through examples, context, engagement and multiple representations
of content to the new learner.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
The purpose of this course is for the learner to gain understanding and enhance vocabulary of dental terminology and overall professional knowledge by training through examples, context, engagement and multiple representations of content.
Upon completion of this course, the dental professional should be able to:
- Utilize proper dental terms that describe oral anatomic structures in their academics and clinics.
- Identify location of hard and soft oral structures along with surfaces.
- Demonstrate the proper brushing and flossing methods.
- Familiarized with salivary functions.
- Differentiate between different dental prosthesis
- Understands the disease processes
